Hi Folks,
I am a new owner of a TomTom go 720 and have gotten myself in a bit of a problem.
When I first connected and ran Home 2.1 I went through all available updates. One of these was the Canary Islands maps which I thought I might as well have installed. However after installing this map it became my current map and I could not find how to switch back to Western Europe maps.
Like a t*t I selected to remove the Canary Island Maps in Home and now I get a message "no maps found".
I can find the Western Europe maps in Home's Add Maps, ( the Canary Island maps are no longer there though). I can add the Western Europe maps and it completes succesfully, but I still get the message " No Maps Found".
I have tried the reset button but the same happens.
Please Help!
Thanks,
Tony. |

Hi, I couldn't access any preferences as there were no icons showing, just a grey screen saying " no maps found".
I have managed to download the Western Europe maps again and it is now working again. It looks like I have lost the Canary Island maps though.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Tony589 and welcome
Always remember before you are going to make a change to your 720 allways create a back-up which is simple to do from TTHome and you then can go back to it should anything go wrong, as i also had to learn the hard way. Luckily i found this site and it has made me operate my TTGo so much easier in a matter of days. Remember (Back-Up). _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Which Western Europe map did you download again? If it's v710, Canary Islands is now integrated into it.
As for backup using TT Home. Please also do one using Windows Explorer, set to show ALL files and extensions. TT Home has been known to not backup some of the stuff - it would be a shame to discover that when you actually need a backup!! _________________ Dennis
