I paid for the upgrade last night and have not received any confirmation email from TomTom..
I think it is a shambles, like the rest of TomTom business.

Just incase anyone else wants to know, it automatically calculated my free upgrade from my serial number so just P&P to pay.

Thanks for the link on page 1.
I have just been on the site and requested my upgrades - no problems, straight forward and no hangs at any point in the process. This might mean that all of my info is actually whizzing around the world from 1 ISP to another and never getting to TomTom but only time will tell and of course a confirmation E-mail from TomTom. I go to France in August and wonder if I will be going via TT2 or TT3 - who knows.
I must just give TomTom support a quick mention though, as I see lots of people posting here who are not satisfied with the service the get from the support team. I have had need of their help on at least 4 or 5 occasions especially when I first got my TT2 and before finding this forum. On every occasion they replied to me, usually the next day, and on the one occasion that it took 3 days, for a reply, the E-mail started off with profuse apologies for the delay. All I can say about them is that they have given me more than just adequate support. :D
P.S. Dave/Darren if you are reading this, the site has become V V slow hope this is just temporary. |

Whilst filling out the online upgrade form I also recieved an error message and couldnt complete the payment page. I did receive an email saying it had been processed.
"When we receive a confirmation of your payment for this order, we will confirm this to you in a separate e-mail."
When I go to my account all the information is there except of course payment method. I tried to redo the upgrade form however, when I get to the activation code part it says that this code has already been used.
This, from reading some of the postings here seems to be a fault with the process.
My question is, how do I get to pay them? Or how can I get back to the payment page?
I would have contacted Tomtom by email, however, they do not appear to have an email address anywhere on the website the "contact us" bit just leads you to a list of questions none of which is particularly helpful for this case.

Hi Howard,
This is exactly what happened to me when I first tried to request my upgrade from Tomtom 2 to Tomtom 3. After waiting for an hour or so I was able to use my activation code again and this time I allowed the payment page a very long time to appear. Eventually it did so and I was then able to complete my purchase. (I have described this in an earlier post in this thread.)
Good luck (and be patient)!

Mine's sorted now, they've emailed me a few times as well. The last one was to tell me that my payment has been authorised. Not long off despatch now. :D |

Hi Carl
I tried again. I inputted my code it brought me onto my details screen still completed then I clicked onto button that said "proceed to checkout".
Then I got the error message again.
Ah well, will keep on trying.
Thanks anyway

Ordered my copy, no problems. Thanks for the heads up guys, as I still have not received an e-mail yet. As someone said above, maybe we will be at the front of the queue...!
I am driving through France and Switzerland at the end of May, is it going to be TT2 or TT3??

JUSTSPEED,
Did you put the Product code in without any spaces (15 Characters)? |

Well within 3 hours of requesting my upgrade I had received 5 E-mails from TomTom. I am slightly concerned that 2 of them are invoices but as long as they don't charge me twice they can send me as many copies as they like.
I am still curious about how long it will take for them to send the new disks out but I haven't tried the order tracking yet.
SteveW
Just for Info. I put the spaces in when I entered my product codes. |
