I upgraded to 6.03 on my TyTN II in order to get the Internal GPS option which for some reason doesn't appear anyway.
I'm now contending with the "sound off" minor bug at TTNAV startup so was considering reverting to 6.01. Are there any key advantages to 6.03 which will make it worth while sticking with it?
Thanks. |

AFAIK the internal GPS option is offered on the Athena and Artemis, I am not too sure if you will find it on other hardware platforms.
What issue are are you having with the sound? TT6 has always been dependent upon the PDA volume level, the application cannot adjust the device voulme, so you need to make sure the PDA volume control is set to MAX BEFORE starting the applicaton - Mike |

Mike,
From memory there was/is a bug on v6.03 where, if you start the application while a GPRS connection is already running, TT sees the data connection as a phone call and so auto-mutes the sound. You have to go into the settings and turn on the sound (twice for some reason) to get around this.
I have v6.03 running on my XDA Orbit and no longer get this problem. Whether that came from upgrading from Windows Mobile 5 to WM6 I don't know. It might be that there is a way to tweak the GPRS connection using a registry editor to stop it confusing TT. Try switching the GPRS settings between "always on" and, well, not always on (dunno what the correct term is...) and see if that makes a difference first.
Regards

Yes, it's the 6.03 bug where you have to have to switch the sound back on twice. My phone seems to be pretty much connected to "G" (GPRS) all the time (when not on 3G or HDSPA). I've got Exchange Sync and TTNAV traffic frequently updating so I'd possibly still have an issue with a data call affecting TTNAV startup.
I had no problems with 6.01 so unless I'll lose something then I'm happy to revert. |

Sometimes...but not always, the sound on my TyTN II, with 6.03 running is switched off when I go into TT6. I always then have to go along to the Voices icon, select the first grayed out out one...as I don't want the voice, but just the camera warning tones, and away I go. |

I just roll the volume wheel on the right hand side of the device and hey presto! |
