Oh no they haven't! I work in a GP surgery and our docs still give sweets out to children after some jabs!
DennisN - If you had a 'flu jab it's very unlikely to be 'flu - I have a 'flu jab every year (diabetic). The latest figures show 'flu to be at a very low level compared with the 'average' figures. As the docs here say - if you can stand up then it isn't 'flu - it's a very bad cold. But take heart - there's lots of people with very bad colds and chesty coughs at the moment (I had one a couple of weeks ago). Keep warm, lots of fluids and if your throat gets really bad - off to the docs for some pills!
Don't forget we men are very intolerant of any illness (or so my wife tells me). _________________ Phil |

It's killer megga Flu strain GO720 #6 and #7. And I'm NOT standing up, I'm sitting down carefully.
And that logo competition was a blatant fix - who ever heard of the guy who's supposed to have won it? - managing director's nephew more like if you ask me. _________________ Dennis

How do you know I haven't got a sniffle of a cold?
Actually you're right, I haven't, but if I had you wouldn't know because I wouldn't be moaning about it - only wimpish so-called men do that, not us tough girlies! We suffer in silence and just get on with all our womanly work.
But I will say a very sincere "aahhh, poor Dennis" to make you feel better.
And as GPS_fan says, I haven't even tried the bluetooth on my GO720, and if I did it probably wouldn't work. But it's true I am one of the few who's got the free map - and Home's offering it to me again! _________________ Anita

This sounds like a terminal case of moaningitis - or bird flu - either way, maybe we should call the vets in just to be on the safe side and put Dennis out of his misery
Dennis, maybe we should start a new campaign...instead of the "where's my free subscription?" brigade, we could replace it with "where's my competition prize?" _________________ Andy

How are you feeling today, Dennis?
Now why isn't there a coughing, sneezing or blowing nose emoticon that we can all use when we're under the weather?
I'm sure that mostdom will be able to find something somewhere _________________ Andy

I've seen the first Christmas trees for sale (non-drop...they'd flaming have to be over a month beforehand!!) and household Christmas lights on, so I think we'd all better hurry up and decide what we're buying for whom _________________ Andy

It's good to see you back on form, Dennis - you're obviously feeling a little better than you were at the tail end of last week _________________ Andy

Flippin Christmas tree posts! You wait, I'll find myself a quick course on how to move posts, then I'll shift this lot out of my thread and into tommo's! I think what I really need is another forum for off topic rubbish moved out of my threads into the off topic off topic area.
Anyway, my D drive has just died again. Now I'll have to open up my PC to find out whether it's IDE or SATA to go get another (after I've done the veg for Vera). I'm not angry, just disappointed.
And I'm still not well, although last night was the first in several when I didn't get up at some awful hour for a Lemsip. I was still too ill to go looking to verify a couple of cameras in Milton Keynes yesterday. Is it just me or does anybody else hate Milton Keynes? All those boring grids of roads that are all identical and what's worse, I have NEVER had a postcode take me to the correct address in MK. And who can understand roads called H8 and V3 anyway? _________________ Dennis

Can you not boot into BIOS and get this information? ...or at least get the information for your C drive and assume that your D drive will be the same (ie IDE or SATA)
On a Mac, you just go into system profiler and you can see if a drive is IDE or SATA - it even gives you the model and serial numbers of drives without having to open anything up.
ps my copy of iWork '08 arrived yesterday and Numbers '08 works fine with Excel spreadsheets - if you have a blank Lotus 123 spreadsheet (or one without any personal data), I could try that for you (if you haven't already tried the iWork '08 trial version) _________________ Andy

Behold, the king of detouring off topic hath spoken
If you manage to move that post to "Do they know it's Christmas in the middle of summer" thread, there'll be a pint for you...or should I make that a half because you were too tight to include me in your round _________________ Andy
