hi all,could you give me the pros and cons for the garmin 610t and the tomtom-520.
i was set on the tomtom,but im having second thoughts after reading some threads on here with regard to reliability.
i have read that the garmin sends you around minor roads,well i live in norfolk would this benefit me as i use a lot of minor, some are very minor roads,is the garmin more suited to this kind of use.
i need blue tooth for the phone,i would like safety cam assistance as i have 8 points now,i also want the newest mapping.
i have also considered the road angel 3 in 1 device.
advice please

As no-one has replied to you, I'll do my best to help.
I have no knowledge of the Garmin, but the TomTom can be configured to give you different types of routeing. If you don't like the look of the first route you are given, you can get the route recalculated (several times) until you get one that looks more suitable for your needs.
There will certainly be no issue with installing regularly updated safety cameras from this site.
As far as the Road Angel goes, I also can't help here either, except to say that any cameras provided by the manufacturers, are likely to be less accurate, and more incomplete compared to those from PGPS.

I have (and still do) use both Garmin and TomTom devices, they are both very good at what they do but for me the user interface on the TomTom wins by a long way over the Garmin. The Garmin works it just feels "clunky" in use.
As for a Road Angel device, which one do you mean when you say "three in one" if its the 7000 which does car and Topo for off road/ walking forget it, it is not very good at either function IMHO, the Memory Map software installed to the device has been slimmed down to the point where certain key (vital) functions have been stupidly removed.
Depending upon you budget I would look at a TomTom One XL or if hands free for the phone is a requirement consider the more costly x20 devices - Mike
