|

Does anyone know how to set the New TOMTOM one XL so that I get audibale speed camera alerts without having to turn on sound and listen to voice directions. ie How do I stop the naff voices giving me directions and driving (no pun intended) up the wall whilst still being warned about speed cameras? I Tried creating an empty voice file but this just froze my TT.
Also is it possible to change the colour of the actual speed display on main route planner screen, when it exceeding the speed limit. When below the limit the speed display is white and quite readable, but above the limit its red and almost invisible against the blue background. I would like to be able to see how much over the limit I am?

You don't need to have a route planned to get the camera alerts. If you wish to have a route without sound but still receive alerts then you need a "Silent Voice' file.
This used to be available on Ray Flannagan's excellent web-site TomTomSatNav.info but the web-site disappeared a while back. A quick Google for 'TomTom Silent Voice' found one here.
It is not possible to edit the colour of the overspeed warning. _________________ Darren Griffin |

To get voice warnings of speed cameras, when a route is not set, you need to untick the box to "Warn only on Route", when you set the camera warning distances, so it will warn you when the camera is not on the route, when you have no route set. To silence the navigation voice, when on a route, as said, install a silent voice. As far as I know, you cant change the red overspeed warning colour. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |
