Can you revert to v2.0 or v1.5/1.6 and see if they work?
You should keep the installer programs on your PC for times like this. |

Thanks to TomTom's inefficiency, THIS PAGE still seems to be offering Home v2.0.
Home 1.5 might be on a CD that came with your unit? It was with my 720. |

I am having the same problem with v2.1. When v2.1 did work I got mapshare updates a couple of times a day. If I revert back to using v2 until the problem is solved, can I still get mapshare updates? _________________ Graham

I'm having the same problem with TT Home v2.1 running slow failing to get updates or log on, v2.0 was running perfect.
I tried back tracking and running v2.0 again and have the same problems as I've just experianced with v2.1 and when I resorted to installing v1.14 of TT Home I even had and issue with that but let it update me to v2.0 again.
But its still slow and wont let me log on or connect my TT One v2 either
Any Ideas lads, I would pull my hair out but dont have enough to spare wiah I left it alone instead of updating to v2.1 now
I am at a complete loss I've even tried repairs installations, uninstalled completely and deleted the folders from the program files directory manually but its still no better when I re-install.
HELP! |

From what you say, its nothing to do with you if all Home versions seem the same.
Where anything goes wrong with TomTom or Home, I ALWAYS assume it is them and leave everything of mine ALONE for a few days until they've sorted it out their end. |

Aha! I've had all of above problems, so that would be it then! However I have a few others as well... if I chose the Help me!/Walk to help/Nearest police station, pharmacy or doctors options on my One it tries to find adresses 250miles away in Ireland... the Drive to help does the same thing - also the First Aid guide and the Other guides returns me the answer "No information is available" - has anyone else expierenced these problems?
Cheers,

Here's the answer I gave to someone who asked the same question on another forum last week...
Quote: | There's a very simple answer to your question, but not one you might want to hear....
Basically the built-in TomTom POIs are rubbish. Always have been.
Some are better than others, "Doctors" is a good example of one that is not. When I had a UK and Eire Map, ALL the Doctors were in or around Dublin, there were none in the UK at all. Now I have a Western Europe Map there are some in Belgium and France, still a load around Dublin but still none in the UK.
As another example, the "Libraries" category only had ONE entry (and the name of that was spelt wrong!), it's a disgrace, and I have complained bitterly to TomTom about it.
Now, people often didn't really notice this kind of fraud (especially as TT made it difficult to make a list of all the entries in a category so you couldn't tell how many they had. But in an act of madness, they added the whole new "Help Me" menu which is of limited practical use, BUT does an excellent job of SHOWING people how cr*p their data was. Their customer services must be regretting it, as they must have had loads of complaints!
TomTom's answer to the problem is rather than pay money to get decent databases, they have now introduced "Mapshare" so that we, the users, are now asked to provide them with the information THAT WE HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR! Clever, eh? |

Well it still aint working for me thats for sure, I actually reverted to home v2 but have come back to v2.1 dont know for how long this time, the reason being I think when v2.1 is hanging trying to log on or just pretending its going actually get updates I am sure its messing with my modems adsl connection as the light starts blinking as it loses the net connection never had this problem till I installed v2.1 |
