not wishing to sound negative here, but are you sure that mapshare is working fully??
with 7.120 it "appeared" to work, as in all the icons were on the device, but it didn't actually do anything and no updates were downloaded when connected to tomtom home.
I have tried the new app version (with TomTom Home version 2.0.0.370) and mapshare still does not work but I don't have version 2.1 of home.
I hope my cynicism is misplaced !!!

Yes, Geoff, It is working - So Far As I Can Tell.
I too had nothing happening with the Mapshare on the TT unit, but could upload only. With the new version of TTH I have downloaded the updates - For the first time.
Do your updates and find out.

Were you offered the update to 2.1 from within HOME2, or from another source? It isn't available to me. _________________ Tim |

TVR,
That's encouraging.
I managed to update the application to 7.131, but I've not been able to get a newer version of TTH??
Did your TTH simply offer you a new version of the Home app, or can I get it elsewhere??

Am I right in assuming that this update won't work for GO *10 users? _________________ TomTom 720

Tim/Geoff,
Offered upgrade automatically fromTTH2.
Oh, Yes by the way,if you went on to the TT website and asked to be emailed/informed when v7 software was released. Guess what? They haven't done the email yet....
Added options now include battery saving options. You can also switch the map screen off in between instructions (looks like it's switched off). and Yes, the POI/speed cam warning still sound. You can even turn TT off automatically when external power is stopped.
Now, all they need to do is put on place all the features they advertised like; Car Icon & "help me" and the v7 software will be complete....
Happy upgrading.... _________________ TVR

Any chance the title of this topic could be edited to make it a bit more descriptive?
Something like "New Navcore 7 for ONE owners. Home update too"
Some people may also like to wait a little..... |

And - it shows you the current road that you are on while you are following a route, something that a lot of us have wanted for a long time.
I have also found a "Where am I button" which tells you the road you are on and the number of yards to the closest road junctions. Very handy if you break down, it will also tell you the phone number of AA breakdown. Very neat, this is what TomTom should concentrate on not add MP3 players and showing photos. |

Sorry gents, perhapse the title of the thread was inaccurate.
I should learn that what TT say is not always accurate. Like "for other TomTom devices around the end of Q3 / 2007." I just took it that all the others where included too.
Sorry If I mislead anyone. Purely unintensional.

No probs, I just thought it looked a bit like "URGENT - Everyone must do this!!!"
For the others that are just finding what Navcore 7 does on their machines, don't forget that features like power saving options and 'show road you are on' have been around for a while on other models with V7, so have already been reported and discussed in the main V7 announcements. Having a read of those will tell you what else has been introduced (as well as what might not work on this particular version - possibly custom car cursors for example). |
