Just went online and there is a v7.020 download waiting. Points to the TOMTOM webiste for more info but nothing there.

Anyone else have any further info.... might bite the bullet and Guinea Pig it for you guys ;-)

Cheers

Ok bit the proverbial bullet and can say that they appear to have fixed the SDHC problem. As mentioned in the past I am using a 4gb SDHC card which the 720 would see but not recognised by TomTom home or the PC when the card was in the unit. Now both windows and TOMTOM Home can see it fine. So a pleasant surprise as it saves the wear and tear of pulling the card out to install music etc on it.

HTH

Updated mine, after it has installed the update you need to log out of home, switch of the 720 then shut down home.
Remove the go from it's cradle then power it up. It will update its software then continue through to the map screen. Tapping on the sat strength meter then version should display the same details as in my sig.

When you reconnect to the PC it will download a new "Operate My Go" File.
It will also download new Map and POI data via MapShare if you have that option set. Quite a few new POI's for Police, Hospital and other POI catagories that are available via the Help Me options.

All my original settings were retained, just working through now to find what else has been updated/changed with the software update.

No problems with using "Operate My Go" with Bluetooth phone paired and connected.

Fm volume seems to be improved as I had to wind down the radio volume when I tried it in the car for directions and MP3'.

Did the update and all my voices were playing at half speed, so Jane sounded like a man!

Had to do a hard reset twice to fix that!

I don't have any extra Police or Doctor POI, so that's still not working.
Nearest are still in France 173 miles away.

Also not receiving any satellites at the moment, so the quickfix info is lost I guess.

Hi

I have downloaded the update.

But decided to click 'More info' option, to learn a bit more about this update..

link takes you to this page:

http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=6141&Lid=1

Note the version number, it clearly states 7.120

The Tom Tom Gremlins at work presumably?

First of all hi folks I'm new here and I've just bought a 720 so obviously felt the need to discuss the problems with it!

In actual fact I've had nothing major since I bought it a week or so ago. However there are two minor things that are wrong, one is the very rare and rapid gurgling noise, I've heard it twice in a week so not a major prob to me. But slightly more seriously theres this latest download which I've just done and like teckniks problem all my voices bar one have gone into slow drunken old man mode!

Any ideas, do I have to reset before attempting aother download? The same tomtom update is still coming up for me to download!?? Where do I go from here?

Many thanks

Which is what I did.....

Now everytime I connect it to the PC and operate it from the PC and then power off , remove from cradle, it refuses to power up.

I have to reconnect it to HOME and then pull it from cradle with it powered up...it then runs through the primary boot sequence...

Also to add to the above "operate my go" via the pc is now unusable as well.
