I HAVE iPAQ HW6915
Tom Tom application version 5.300 (54700) which i see isn't even on the comparison list.
Map ver v675
Western Europe
IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!
If I was a laywer I would sue for time wasted together with the cost of the damn program. I'v ehad the thing on my handheld for 4 months and have joined a world of discussion groups to no end.
Paper maps and a compass would do me much more good. |

Is that right? | The truth could be that either they are really NOT compatible and simply won't work, or they will work, but not with some of the 720 features, such as Mapshare. I'm guessing you'd not be too willing to pay for a download to prove what they say is correct and the map doesn't work!! |
You're right in that respect. Even though it will only cost £33 odd, I don't want to waste the money. Pity as I really need the maps for September. You would have thought as the TTx20 range was out roughly the same time as the new maps that they would have made sure they were compatible. _________________ TTG 720

Well I have working Eastern Europe v680.1536, USA and Canada v675.1409, Central and Western Europe v675.1409, Australia v675.1431 and others
Although Mapshare does not work, all the usual stuff works just as well, if not better. It reroutes a damn-site quicker. Singapore and Hong Kong works, though, to be honest I have not tried Taiwan as I rarely go there and South Africa works too _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320

Did you pay Tom Tom for any of these maps for your 720? _________________ Dennis

Just spoke to TomTom and they say proper Eastern European Maps for the 520 & 720 are being released in 1-2 weeks time. _________________ TTG 720

Thank you for that Mojo. I will add them if TomTom include full EC coverage. That is to include Romania and Bulgaria which on the ones I have working is really only main routes. Since I spend a lot of time in Romania espcially, a paper map and a-z is invaluable. The old v608 is better though very much out of date, But it did cover Bucuresti quite well. With a lot of EU money being spent, a lot of road improvements are being made. I could not blame the mapping companies for being slow. Four trips there this year so far have seen several roads closed, opened with different priorities etc. And some of the rural areas are just not covered.
They are aware of my needs, so I do get regular updates, but still v608 is better than the recent offerings
Hope the 720 offerings will be better. At least I should be able to mapshare quite a bit, and add some traffic cameras to poi. There are a few more than are currently reported elsewhere _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320

Im successfully running the set-up as below, even with having the new navcore 7 on with it not being "officially" released for my tomtom1 v1, it works perfectly. Apart from not being able to download other peoples mapshare submissions, the mapshare feature works fine for me to edit my own maps etc _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Don't know if this helps but have just bought a One XL and updated the software today - seems to be working but won't know until I get on the road
App 7.120
GPS v1.21
Map - UK and ROI v675.1409
I downloaded TomTom Home 1.5 then it upgraded itself to 2.0.0.370
TomTom site says the maps are up to date, but Home says Mapshare is not available with this device but thought it was.
I am going to compare this with my trusty i3 which has UK and US mapping. |
