I got an iCN 530 for christmas. As I browse the Navman store site, I see that model is listed as "SOLD OUT! Please see our newest models, the Navman N40i and F20, which have replaced this model" Is the 530 completely discontinued in terms of software support, too? I also read about delays in software on this forum, and hints that it is no longer supported, but I'm wondering, might even hope to see new SmartST updates OR Map updates for the 530? Any word? |

Unfortunately it seems that anything you buy from Navman will be unsupported immediately you have paid for it (and they have their grubby paws on you hard earned cash). My advise has to be if you want ongoing support shop elsewhere.
Fortunately Navman products are reasonable and do what they say they do, so what you buy today will still do the job for a while to come. |

Navman technical support is pants. They promised a fix for my 530 bugs 'in a few days', that was six months ago. Now they told me the 530 is no longer supported. Well that's a great attitude to have to your customers once they've handed their cash over. I prefer the design of the navman products over any other but despite this I'll never buy another navman as their support is so poor. |

I know this will just enflame alot of folks here, and that isn't my intent, but when you get a reply like that from customer service.... I have to ask, what all can we do to HACK this discontinued, soon-to-be doorstop icn-530. We obviously have no loyalties to Navman and their map vendors anymore, since they are only trying to upsell us, so I say lets hack away. New Maps maybe? Tom-Tom? Reg Keys? Lets post some useful hacker sites just for the icn-530 and then lets hack a way! |

We have no issues with users posting solutions and methods to access an underlying OS, it's all bought and paid for after all.
All we ask is that it's all legal so no methods to defeat copy protection etc. But if you want to install a legitimate copy of another software package and find a solution, post away _________________ Darren Griffin |

You can install Tomtom, if you have a legit copy, or most other PPC based appliactions - have a search for threads re unlocking the 510/520 series.
GPSPassion.com used to have a very good thread and is worth a search. |

You can buy latest 530 maps from Navman's online store. |

Itzme - Do NOT ask that again. Please check the Forum rules and re-read Darrens post above. |
