Hi
Right I have a new 720, and for the last week it has been fine, have been downloading updates as and when, and been very happy with it.
But tonight, I logged into Home (2.0) and it had some post code updates, which I did, but after doing so I now can't use the postcode to find an address. If I try to put one in...like SP2 0PP all that comes up on my tomtom is the first part, SP2.
Now this worked fine before the update tonight, so I thought I would just restore my tomtom, as I made a copy right out of the box, but when I try to do so, it tells me there is no backup. I have made 3-4 over the last week via the home software but it never saved one.
So I then looked in home under " Show contents of my go" and there is no post code to be seen, and I'm sure there was before tonight.
So I was wondering if anyone here with a 720, could please help me out, by e-mailing me a copy of the post codes for my 720, and also tell me where they should go, I take it in the map folder, but not sure.
Many thanks
Dellboy
P.S I have e-mailed tomtom about this, but I know they are not to fast in replying.

Non-one can legitimately email you the postcode file but you may have a copy somewhere.
Does your folder called zip, at the top level, on your TomTom have a file in it called Great_Britain.Postal ?
If not it should be where TTHome keeps its backups on your PC.

Hi
the zip file is empty and for some reason tomtom has not made any backups on my computer. Like I said I did backup 3-4 times, using home, and every time it said backup was complete ( or words to that effect) but it was only tonight when I needed it I found it had not backed up at all.
Anyway thanks for the quick reply, looks like I will have to wait to see what tomtom come up with, no doubt it will end up costing me some more money!!!

The Post Code files should be in the ZIP directory on the 720, it should contain 4 files totalling 10.7MB.
There are 2 files for Great Britain and 2 for the Nederlands.
I take it you didn't copy the whole of the contents of your 720 to another drive or directory when you first got it before making any changes/updates. _________________ Graham.
