have upgraded my Orange M700 (HTC 3600) to the official Windows Mobile 6 operating system. Most of my software is working correctly. However TOMTOM detects a new device ID every time I hard reset the phone.
I have spoken to TOMTOM support who have confirmed that this is an issue with WM6 and at the moment do not offer any official support. They have also stated off the record that it is likely that TomTom 7 will not be released on the WM format partially due to this issue. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

I'm running an XDA Orbit with WM6 and I'm not seeing this issue.
I've been playing around with some new ROMs and have flashed the phone about 4 times this week. Each time TomTom has reinstalled itself from the storage card without any problems. |

But did you also try activation of TTN?
After every ROM update (WM6) I get a new device ID in TTN6 (6.03) which requires a new activation...
I do hope this is not holding back TTN7 on the WM platform...

I think you might find the posts in this link useful.
It is a lengthy thread, but contains some pretty detailed info and a long saga (mine) of getting TomTom to support my WM6 ROM.

This is interesting. I've heard of this TT device code issue on plenty of 'unofficial' WM6 ROMs, but this is the first I've heard of it on a carrier released official WM6 ROM. I do hope TT don't use this as an excuse to dump us for TT7.
I'm also using the O2 official WM6 ROM on my Xda Orbit and have no issues with the TT device code. |
