hi gang,
I wonder if you can help me.
In order to progress from version 6.0.1.68 or whatever it is in order to get the latest version and therefore the easy way to update safety cameras via the executable file, following the instructions on the website I deactivated co-pilot on my device and then continued to attempt to do the same online and received an hour instead of successful deactivation.

I think this was done because I have upgraded a couple of times in order to get later versions and did not keep a record of my last product code therefore the one I entered in the field on the website was my original product code the one that the software shipped with.

Now I cannot use the software and I do not want to do a complete reinstall can someone help me please I have e-mailed ALK but have not had that from the yet.

Can someone help me please?

Kind regards

Alan Question

I'm sure that Alk will get back to you, but it may take a couple of days.

Do you have a backup that you can restore from?
Or partially restore just CoPilot from?

The last time that I reloaded CoPilot I was connected (via my PC) to the Internet. I was surprised that I didn't have to go through the registration process and can only assume that the software looked up my details during the installation.

When you're up and running again I would suggest sticking with version 6.0.1.68 for now. Personally I believe the latest patch to be a step backwards and it's only the deactivation and re-activation process that's stopped me reverting back to version 6.0.1.68.

As for the speed cameras, I use the excel version from this site.

With the last patch warnings are given for cameras that are not only 'on route', but also cameras that are adjacent to the route. This is irrespective to any settings.

Also, any slight change in direction triggers multiple warnings for each camera. This can be very annoying and counter productive.

If I remember correctly - try the following:

Reinstall the old version and activate it on-line (ie PPC connected to the internet via active sync).

If the ALK on-line system thinks that your copy is already activated I believe that it checks the unique signature (or whatever it is called) of your PPC. If the signature matches the one they hold, then your product will be activated.

You should then be free to try again.

As for product code - I may have misunderstood what you meant - but so far as I am aware, within a major version (ie 6.x.x.x) the product code will stay the same - ie as printed on the back of the 'credit card' supplied with the boxed product
