Garmin street pilot broken- need replacement

I have had a Garmin street pilot i3 for a couple of years and it has been great...
BUT I now have a problem: the unit attaches to the wind screen by a ball and socket mechanism which has broken. The ball part has a sucker on it and attaches to the windscreen - still works OK - The socket is part of the garmin unit and the small black bits of plastic inside the socket which holds the ball into place have broken off.

I have tried adding blue tack to the back of the hole but it won't stay in and it flies off whilst driving

I would like to know:

1. Has anyone else had this problem?
2. Any suggestions for repairing it ?
3. What would a good (similar) replacement be for the garmin Street Pilot i3??? (would quite like to stick with garmin)
