My wife and I are in St. Augustine this weekend. I've been getting some POI's together, but it's saving all the locations as favorites. Is there a way to get the favorites to my custom POI's?
Thanks |

You could use EasyGPS www.easygps.com to extract the Favourites to your PC then open each Favourite and get the longitude and latitude to put into a Excel spreadsheet and save as a CSV file.
Have a look at any of the POI files here to see the format which is Longitude, Latitude, Name |

Might be too late for this trip...
The Nüvi makes a copy of your Favourites available as \gpx\current.gpx. Since Garmin's POI Loader reads .gpx files (as well as .csv), you can just use this file as input, without any modifications to it.
If you convert it to .csv, then you will potentially lose any additional detail such as address/phone number information that the Nüvi stored in the file.
A word of warning regarding the 'symbol' type though - don't use the default "Waypoint" symbol, or any of the generic "Block, blue", "Block, red" type symbols, as they have a strange effect on POI Loader - "Information" works well. (No matter which symbol you pick, POI Loader does not use it as the display icon; that is derived from an associated .BMP file) |
