I wonder if it will also give an accurate altitude reading on the plane.
...but what map will it display? A large expanse of blue or will it try to shown the roads 30 odd thousand feet below?
...or maybe it knows the flight path _________________ Andy

I didn't know it has attitude? But when I've seen screen shots from other folk, they HAVE shown roads below. I would imagine 3D view is quite impressive!! _________________ Dennis

I thought the correct expression was Soft Southern Shandy-Swillers | Absolutely NOT - that might confuse some people into thinking Southerner Softy Pantses were a bit firm - not 'ARD, mind you, like Northerner 'Ardy Pantses, but not quite totally Softy Pantses. Wouldn't want that. _________________ Dennis

When I lived in Blackpool local people thought the South started at (about) Milton Keynes. When I moved from Blackpool to Farnborough, local people thought the North started at (about) Watford with Scotland starting at the southern end of the M6.
So where is the dividing line?
I remember years ago on the BBC a concept called the "mugger" line which as I recall ran from the Bristol Channel to the Wash. (just substitute the second letter of the alphabet for the "m" in mugger). This was supposed to determine the North/South divide based on pronunciation. |

Surely, your GPS does have attitude - that's why you had to return your 720 because it failed to behave for you
My GPS also has altitude, but I don't know if it only works at ground level (ie up to a few thousand feet above sea level) or if it works up to cruising height for passenger jets.
Perhaps we should add fuel to the fire and open a left/right handed debate as well as your north/south divide _________________ Andy

So where is the dividing line? | South starts at Sheffield. Left starts at Huddersfield. South and/or Left is Bad, North and Right is Good. _________________ Dennis

Oh SHUCKS!! That's torn it. Tom Tom have just announced the 920, availability last quarter of 2007. Now what do I do? I'm currently down to my last Satnav and getting serious withdrawal symptoms. I'm off on holiday today, so can't buy a new one for the next two weeks (God willing, they won't have any Satnavs in the departure lounge at 5am tomorrow!!). But then I have to wait another two weeks to "last quarter 2007", then I have to wait until it gets to TT's "last quarter 2007", which could be a long time, recalling the x10 series last year, or the new maps "2nd quarter 2006".
Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can get through the next "how long" until it actually hits the High Street Colliers? _________________ Dennis

Keynsham is South AND Left - Megga disapproved of!! One saving grace - population fortunately contains at least one 'ARD Northerner. And Vera (who is from Devon, which is excluded from South and Left because it's nice). _________________ Dennis
