Until I came across the site below, I thought that speed cameras were supposed to be clearly visible from at least 60 yards away:
http://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso.htm
How wrong I was and whilst I don't wish to open another debate about speeding, I wondered how many other members would question where the line is drawn between safety and revenue.
Over the past couple of years, there also seems to have been an increase in the number of hidden speed limit signs caused by a faillure to cut back vegetation around road signs _________________ Andy

I don't have a particular axe to grind, BUT I do wish this site would put a date on the photos. Quite a long way down the page, at last we come across a date of 2004. Old information smacks of "Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics" - using selective information to make a point.
I have no doubt the photos were all genuine when taken, but my passport photo is not recent enough to identify me now (since my facelift and makeover!). _________________ Dennis

Smacks of speed camera vigianisim .co.uk
Lots of one sided views, hatred for, and general misinformation, about speed cameras. No help to no one! _________________ Dom

I know about that one as it is just down the road from my place of work. They didn't put the "This is only a test" sticker on it straight away though. _________________ Dom

Hey! I've heard of Surrey - I went there yesterday. Tadworth. Now that's a place for speed humps if ever I saw them - climbing irons and ropes!! _________________ Dennis

Are these not designed for white van drivers then? I thought the idea was that you used one as a take-off ramp and the next as your landing ramp.
...so this sign doesn't mean white vans at play then?
In Corfu it might have a totally different meaning _________________ Andy
