I am amazed to see that the price of the TT3 with bluetooth is under £200 whilst TT2 with bluetooth is still selling for £360?

The TT2 & TT3 maps cost around the same so the BT unit has come down from around £250 to £80. An amazing price drop or have I missed something?

That 'Bargain' is for a wired mouse by the looks. Not the Blue Tooth offer.

Can you confirm Terminator?

That is indeed the price for the PocketPC TT3 Bluetooth package! Flippin heck! The BT receivers alone were about that not so long ago and in the pack you get the excellent TT carkit as well.

Not quite! I believe the BT pack does not include the car kit, although it is provided with the wired GPS. But still it looks a good price.

I have just received my TTN3 Bluetooth & Car Kit Smile

They contain the following:
TTN3 Bluetooth
- TTN3 Software CD
- BT GPS receiver
- Magnetic plate to attach BT GPS receiver to car
- Mains charger for BT GPS receiver
- Charging lead for use with a Tom Tom carkit

TT Carkit
- Suction mount (+ disc to stick on car for placing mount)
- Air Vent Mount
- Direct Stick on Mount
- Holder for PDA (including adaptor to fix to mount)
- Cigar lighter lead for the pda holder.

One thing there is a shortage of is decent installation instructions - like how to turn the Bluetooth GPS on and off (unless I missed it).

Note that without the carkit, you don't get an in-car charging lead for the BT GPS (which you apparently did with TTN2 BT). While you could use the one for the iPAQ (assuming compatible), this would probably be already in use if you didn't have the car kit.

And yes, I paid less than £200 for the BT GPS... but once you add in the carkit, it's more in the region of £250.

Alan

Expansys show the carkit in the image for that product and TomTom list the carkit as being part of the TTNav3/BT bundle so if it did not come with it I'd have some questions to ask!

To switch the BT ON just hold the Power button for a sec or so.

To switch it OFF, hold the Power button down until the Green LED illuminates then release the button and it will switch OFF. Strange logic there I know Confused

As for power, the BT is compatible with the iPAQ Power lead, they used to bundle a 12v lead that could power two devices which I guess from your description is no longer provided?

The Car Kit is definitely separate, although some dealers are including it in the bundle. I found that a dead givaway was that if the bundle wasn't tailored to a specific PDA, there almost certainly won't be a car-kit in it.

Check out ebuyer.com, they are selling TT3 + BT GPS for £160.63 inc VAT! This is without the car kit, but with the software being worth about £100, this makes the BT receiver, well, less that CF or wired receivers!
Are we about to see GPS price wars? I hope so! :D

Then of course it is easy to offer low prices if you have no stock!

Who does have stock at the moment?

Ebay is swamped with TomTom BT GPS receivers at the moment.

They seem to go for around £75.00
