I ran POI Edit Auto Update Manager today to update the speed cameras on my PDA, and it failed with the following message:
"Please check your internet connection. Also check the status page on PoiEdit.com to find out if the website is up and running according to the system of Dnote software."
Can anyone explain whats happened.
Thanks |

If you're referring to updating PocketGPSWorld Speed Cameras we ceased support for POIEdit back in January 2006 when we moved to a subscription model.
We recently realised that the the pre Jan 06 version of our database was still available via POIEdit and so removed it.
I note that you are not a subscriber, as of January 2006 only those members who have paid a subscription fee have access to the safety camera downloads, this is currently £2 for one month or £19 for one years access. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the reply.
I am happy to pay the subscription,
However are you saying that because I have been using PoiEdit to get the files and put the Poi's onto my PDA this will no longer work.
Will I have to completly setup a new method of inserting the Poi's into Tom Tom |

You cannot use POIEdit at all with the POI files from this site it simply won't work, all you need to do is download the POI files, unzip them on the PC (or PDA) then put the files into the map folder, it is very easy to accomplish - Mike |

Thanks
Do I have to delete the files already on my PDA or will they just be overwritten by the new downloaded files.
Thanks |

I would delete the files you have on the device as IIRC the file names were changed around the time the system was altered, otherwise you will have too many POI files on the device and get multiple warnings - Mike |
