Has anyone managed to get the 1 month traffic free trial with the new TomTom 720?

My 720 came with Speed Cameras free trial already installed and working.
Have you a problem? |

I have the same problem, tried activating it following the instructions on the TT web site but all I get is the "You need a subscription for this TomTom PLUS service" message |

Hi are you clicking on the right on? In TT Plus its not the one on the left side where it say activate promotion its on the right hand side where it says activate free trial you have to login yourself in. I copied the right side of TT plus below. Hope this helps

Ok today i have had some success, it connected and got traffic data, but it has stopped again.
All i did to get it working was to select Traffic and it connected and download the traffic.
I emailed TomTom 2 days ago, they have just replied. They have said that they are having problems with their plus server and hope to have it working by Friday-Saturday.

I have also been unable to activate my free Traffic Trial.
When I bought the 720, I didn't know I was entitled to one; if truth be told, I'm still not sure if I am or not, but when I'm logged in to the TomTom Plus website, there is definitely a link to 'Activate Free Trial.
I have followed the steps described and also get a red screen with a messaging saying that I need a Subscription for the service and confirmation that Traffic is disabled. Boo !
I phoned TomTom (twice) and have received 2 different answers:
1. Sorry - we are having some problems; I will send you an e-mail which I would like you to reply to with the promotional codes received with the product (my promotional code relates only to Safety Cameras, Map Share and something else - but not Traffic, as far as I can see). She also asked me to e-mail proof of purchase and said she'd get it sorted "within 2 hours". I thanked her for her help, asked for her name, and instead of relpying, she cut me off ! I didn't receive an e-mail, but sent an e-mail to them anyway .... but haven't heard anything back. Rubbish!
The second answer was:
2. Sorry - you don't get a Traffic Trial with the 720.
And that was that.
So ... if anyone has activated a free trial for a 720, I'd love to know how !
Thanks,
Rob. |

Just got off the phone with tom tom about this promotional code. OK for those of you like me who don’t RTFM as Dennis would put it , man at tom tom told me it needs to be entered in at www.tomtom.com/latestmap
Also was told that the beta home will be finalised soon, I just laughed and said “Oh really, that will be good then” What I meant to say was don’t think so it’s s—t lots of work to do on it. |
