Has anyone got a POI (ov2) for french campsites, or knows where to find one? Many thanks. |

Don't know how good it is. This was just an answer to the same question in another part of the forum today. |

I used the poi handler campsite database earlier in the month and it's very good as long as you are aware that not all french campsites are on it and some of the pois seem to relate to places where you can park motorhomes overnight. But there are lots of campsites on it.
It's probably best used in conjunction with the Michelin guide book although we carried one but didn't use it. That was because I had pre- planned our campsites, using the internet & the poi handler database before we left home.
Wish I was still there _________________ TT Go Essential |

I realise this is a bit late but if you go to the Campingcheque web site you will be able to follow a link to all sorts of goodies including European campsites that are listed in Campingcheques handbook and also ACSI Handbook |

Just did a quick search for French campsites and voila !
I've joined both poi handles and myfavoritecampsite, they seem both very simular but I think the later looks easier to use.
As the Garmin has a SD slot and I have a 512mb SD card spare do I just download them onto the desktop and then, using the garmin poi loader copy them over from desktop to card via card reader ?
Do I need to name them as I'm looking to download campsites for:
England
Wales
Ireland
France

You can always use both, or use a utility like POI Dedit to merge the two together and delete any duplicates.

I don't know Garmins very well, but I do know that with POI loader you have to load ALL of your user-POI categories at once. In other words, if you try to add a new POI category on its own, then you will lose any you had before.
You have to keep all your POI files together on the PC and upload them all in one go.

Don't understand the question, I'm afraid. |
