|
|
I have just changed my mobile phone to an Orange SPV E650 which supports GPRS and EDGE however when I pair up the phone it reports "This phone does not report wireless data connection (DUN) capabilities. TomTom PLUS services cannot be used with this phone"
Having only just subscribed to Safety Cameras and Traffic, I wonder if I have just wasted my money or is there a way to get this phone working?
And yes I know its not on their list of supported phones and I'm sure they will tell me that when they reply to my support question posted as above. _________________ Colin

As expected the reply from TomTom Support. Although they have offered a refund in a convoluted sort of way.
Quote: | Please use the link below to check for compatible phones to use with your Tom Tom.
www.tomtom.com/phones
You will see that your phone is not a listed compatible device. We therefore cannot provide support for this issue. If you are unable to use the plus services, you will have to purchase the safety cameras seperately before we are able to refund you for the Traffic and safety cameras subscription. You will be able to use Tom Tom HOME to install the safety camera files.
With Best Regards

My worry now is that I will end up with two subscriptions. Time to switch to the PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera Database perhaps _________________ Colin

I think I may have found the answer here:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/in...1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
Apparently MS removed DUN from the build on the E650 and a fix called WM6_BT_DUN.cab is require to be installed .
Not yet tested this though.... _________________ Fraserp

You do indeed need the DUN profile on the phone for it to work, I have had exactly the same problem with my Artemis, as long as your device is rinning WM6 there is a link to the DUN CAB file installer on This just scroll down past the initial posts - Mike |
