|
|
When I make a handsfree call on my 720, my voice cannot be heard unless I talk very loud, otherwise all that's heard other end is a loud buzzing noise. I have recorded my own handsfree voice to voicemail and just hear the buzzing noise more than my own voice.
Second problem is when recording my own directions on the 720, it records a constant loud clicking noise like a metronome.
Do you think my 720 is faulty? and do I contact TomTom or the dealer to get it replaced? |

Unless there is something nearby causing interference then it does sound as if it may be faulty, I'm not having that issue with mine.
In the UK it is the retailer who is responsible. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Have tried the handsfree in the car, and other locations, and tried different phones, but always get the buzzing on handsfree and my speech cannot usually be heard above the buzzing unless i shout.
I have emailed Handtec and hope to get a replacement 720. |

My first 720 had this same problem. I exchanged it for a new one and the mic works well.
People in other forums are reporting this as well. It looks like TomTom is going to have a lot of returned units. |

Thanks for the info.
I am glad to hear it's not just me having this problem, and that a replacement should work correctly.
Would hate to get a replacement with the same fault. |

Any update? Did you get a replacement?
TT is telling me that it is an issue with 7.010 which is a ridiculous lie. |

I have had 1 from argos and 2 from my local Currys, all had the same problems, hardsfree buzzing etc. I think tomtom would be well aware of this problem and hopefully should be trying to fix it. I have decided to hold off for a while and get one when this has been resolved. Interestingly enough i did have a tomtom go 520 first (which had a different problem and was returned!) this as far as i can remember didnt suffer from the handsfree problem. d |

If anyone is using a Motorola RAZR V3
Can someone try this and let me know if the buzzing sound is fixed?
Select SETTINGS / CONNECTION. Select BLUETOOTH LINK / SETUP / POWER . Select ON (then the bluetooth is activated). Then select BACK/HANDSFREE . Select [LOOK FOR DEVICES] (searching...). Select your TomTom device, and yes to accept the bonding.
At this point a pairing key will be asked for - Insert key
Try making a call!

Sorry, don't have a razr or i would, but are you on to something?
BTW, I didn't think this was phone related as I have tried several models with my brothers unit without success. |

Yes,
Replacement 720 works great.
No buzzing at all. Nice clear audio both ways. |

I'm now on my second 720 and both have had absolutely no problem with the phone - clear as a bell - folks on the other end have said it's a little quiet sometimes, but that's not too much of a problem. I'm using 7.01.8290 Navcore software.
I've used it with or without the car charger and there's absolutely no difference.
Could it be that folks are using non-supported phones? _________________ Cheers, John

Hi All
My 720 is working fine with phone calls using V3x and T-mobile MDA Vario (Not the II version either) and the 720 works fine on wireless with the Vario, v3x is on three so thats where the wireless prob may be. The FM connection to my car radio works great too. |

Brother returned unit #2 and got his 3rd.
Still the same buzzing. He is going back for his money and trying another retailer for his 4th unit. |
