I have the MMF and slipper and dell Axim with a bluetooth CF card
(Billionton). When I look at BT manager and link to the slipper
the range indicator the coloured squares goes to red after 2 meters
in a normal room?

I thought the signal strength would be much better than this?

I havent worked at the usable range just the indicator on the BT manager?

Any ideas, crap CG card (it was cheap!)

On some PDAs you can influence the BT antenna power (low-medium-high).

Standard BT should go to about 10 meters, but this already starts to defeat the idea of a BT GPS - that one should better be within 2 meters of the display device...

If you have a bluetooth phone or other device try testing how far you can go before your square turns red. I dont have that range feature on my Loox 600, but I also think the range on the slipper maybe a bit poor.

Saying that I think I have a better range in a normal room.

Infact if you could do a more objective test with a few BT devices it may prove a fairer test.
