Just checked & still states 'processing order (as of 6.23am this morning).
Keep checking mail for despatch details but nothing as yet.
Will let you know as & when I get the happy news.

Me too...6:23 am as well...I guess they must finish by 6:24 am each day and spend the rest of their time trying to sell extended warranties. I only ordered mine on Tuesday though so fingers crossed.
How do competitors' RDS-TMC devices work...any joy with these anyone?

:D Another useful bit of information, older maps do work on the new 720, I've tried Western and Central Europe, along with North America. The only thing to be aware of is that map corrections is disabled but this isn't a surprise.

09:21. And the question is.
Is DennisN still sitting by his front door? :x
Dan.
Not at all. It arrived at 08:20 (CityLink non-clown lady). It went straight upstairs to meet my PC and get a bit of charge. Then Win Explorer to copy everything to PC. Then give it a go.
Disaster, same as Paul, went into a loop of setup. Tried everything. It eventually behaved, but I have no idea how or why.
Disaster, at 09:15, before I could get it much further set up, a call to go out and do some work!!
So it went to Wales on the day the M4 was shut since 7am. It coped nicely by me selecting alternatives, avoid M4, then Avoid A40, to force routing via Heads of the Valleys Road. What lucky people all those Welshies are to have a drive like that where they live.
Having had a brief look last night at the TT website, I tried to tell it to navigate, using Yorkshire talking and it worked! Delivery address was Ammanford, College Street. Fortunately, I'd programmed the route into both the other GOs first, because although Ammanford came up beautifully, College Street didn't! So I said "Stryd-y-Coleg" and Bingo give that Katie a cigar!! I tried my Welsh test with Abertawe and that worked, but I didn't have the nerve to try Ystrad Mynach - That's getting close to the limit of my Welsh!
One good change - that 'orrid flashing red speed thing has stopped. You can disable the speed limit, or if you don't, your speed turns red, but doesn't flash, so it's vaguely easier to read. I'm struggling to get used to the status bar at the side (I wonder if you set it to left handed operation, will the status bar go up the left side - could have implications for all of us who tell beginners to tap bottom right to see version etc).
Anyway, I can't sit here entertaining you lot, got to go play with the new toy. But I will add I don't think I'll be getting rid of this one like I did with the 910s. _________________ Dennis

To save you trying it doesn't, bottom or right only. _________________ Darren Griffin

New Windows Mobile V6 devices that only support bluetooth PAN profiles (Personal Area Networks) do not allow dialup/wireless data, hands free & phone book are supported. The 720 only supports the older DUN profile (Dial up network). I'm testing a T-Mobile MDA Vario II

Dennis,
I'm glad you're new toy arrived, you enjoy it, I havn't ben able to leave mine alone in the two days I've had it.
Strangely, when I first turned mine on (albeit before a full charge) it did go into that setup loop and I#ve no idea what I did to get it out of it but it was fine after a while. Worried me for a few mins though, I thought the supplier had sent me a duff unit..it was toucn and go for a bit 8O

Speech recognition isn't bad . . .
:D Solution found, the CAB file at the following location installs DUN support on newer devices, my 720 is now happily talking to my Vario II.

One of the V6 versions did that also, when disconnected from the PC. I think it was V6.150.
It seemed that it wanted to re-boot 3 or 4 times and then it was OK. _________________ Richard

Can anyone suggest a decent case for the Tomtom 720 other than the one that Tomtom are selling?
Kevo
Same here, I was wondering if the ONE XL case will fit, these are available, can anyone confirm if the XL case fits?
You could have a look at item no: 150147142378 on Ebay. I'll probably go for that one. Doesn't store the in car holder or charger though but should protect the Go.
