Is anyone else with a 720 having trouble getting Home to accept the code at the back of the pamphlet to enable the safety camera update, Map Share and latest maps?

I am trying but it keeps telling me that the code is invalid or has run out!

Maybe it is so new that they haven't enabled the code yet?

Kenny

I now need speed cameras. What's the best way to go - should I buy the TomTom subscription or is the PocketGPSWorld version better? Does it work with the 720?

Cheers,
Kenny
DO NOT, repeat NOT use the Tom Tom ones, they are poor compared with the ones from here. They should work on the 720 in the same way as they do on the other Tom Tom devices. In theory, mine arrives tomorrow, before 9:30am, and I'll prove it just as soon as I've done the all important backup (using Windows Explorer, not TT Home).

The UK site again doesnt show any Sony Ericsson phones under the compatibility list for the 720. Darren you dont happen to have a Sony Ericsson to test with your unit do you?

I've just tried mine with my K800i and it works perfectly.

Looking at the help me menu.
There are garages listed, not my usual one, but several fairly locally.
There are hospitals listed, not all have an A&E (Accident and Emergency) unit which would be I guess what would be required.
The nearest doctor is given as 195miles away (the name looks dutch).
The nearest police station look French, 138miles away.
The nearest pharmacy also looks French 137miles away.
The nearest dentist 195 miles away.

So a few useful items, but not all.

Cheers
Paul

So not a good recommendation for moving to live in Cricklade then - you've got more pMobile cameras than anything else!

I spoke to them earlier today and they said that they would be receiving 88 units on Friday (3rd Aug) and sending them out the same day to the people in the date ordered. This will hopefully mean they will arrive on Monday 6th Aug.

I will be ringing them up on Friday lunchtime to make sure they have arrived as I could really do with mine for early Wednesday Morning for my 3 weeks in France.

On the 910 you can select to warn of a POI using a number of inbuilt sets of text or enter the text that you want to unit to say.
On the 720 you can only use the bells, bleeps, and chicken noices, or record your own voice.
Or does this mean that I have to learn how to go ogg files?

Cheers

No, you have the same possibilities as you have on GO910. That is if you use TTS!

Interestingly, I've set up my usual liz whittaker ogg files to use for the speed cam warnings. Having set up this up 3 or four times, the unit seems to lost the link to them after it's reset and they need setting up again. I'm wondering if this is a fault with the unit or if it's something I'm doing wrong. If anyone else experiences this with a 720 please post.
Thanks.
