Hi all,
I've downloaded the new GB and Ireland Map from the TT website onto my 510, so i now have two maps on my card (it's a 2Gig card) but when i go to swap to the new map on the 510 unit it asks for the activation code which i have but it won't accept. i've downloaded and used the flash tool (which worked last time when i transfered my old map onto it a few months ago) but i can't activate the new map.
Any Advice, hope this makes some sort of sense
Thanks

Did you install the Map with HOME? If yes, it should activate it if the correct Device is connected. _________________ Richard

Sorry if this is obvious, but are you giving it the NEW activation code for the NEW map, or the one you used before for your old map?
You need to enter your TomTom's DEVICE code and your new maps Product Code (this should have come with the download of the map) and is also visible if you look at the entry for it in TomTom Home and hover the mouse cursor over it) into the TomTom website at www.ttcode.com to get the new Activation code.
Enter it without any spaces when asked. |

Hi Andy,
i was using the old code, "BUT" i've got the new code and it still isn't working, i've tried the flash tool again. i'm getting the hump with it now, if it carries on i can see a costly throw across the room.
Thanks

I got the code from ttcode.com, and there are 15 digits in it.

Just checking that we were taking about the Activation Code and not the Product Code.
If it won't accept the Activation Code that ttcode gave you, I would phone TT Support on 08451 610 009.
Explain the problem, and have your Device and Product numbers ready. _________________ Richard

Hi,
Just to let you know that i spoke to tt helpline and they said to erase the old map off the card as that might be conflicting with new one, but that didn't work so they sent me a different version of the flash tool via e-mail and that did the trick and i can now use the new map. so thanks oldboy for the phone number.
