Yes I have a question! How good is the FM transmitter and call handling?
I recently had an expensive cd player stolen from my car that I used for bluetooth handsfree calling and playing mp3's and the call quality was quite poor. I've now ordered a 720 that I intend to use for mp3's, phone and navigation using my standard headunit.
Does the 720 pause mp3s to read out navigation or does it play them over the top? Im also quite interested in the text message feature, how does this work?

I was having a play with the Go 910 yesterday and was impressed with the functionality - how does the Go 720 compare?
How well does the speech recognition work?
Identical to the Go 910

Probably a bit early to say, but how is battery life looking?
About 3-4 hrs

What are the speakers like?
Excellent, too loud on the loudest setting!

What are the new Navcore features?
Mapshare, voice operation, new help guides, more comprehensive POIs, pseudo 3d mapping in some built-up areas i.e. outlines of ground layout of actual buildings. _________________ Darren Griffin

Call handling is good, the built-in microphone is better than it was on the x10's but the FM Transmitter still suffers because of the difficulty of finding a free space in the airwaves to tune to. Here near London its very congested but acceptable when you can find a free channel.

Yes when playing .mp3s it pauses them when replaying navigation instructions.
When text messages arrive they can (if you choose) be read aloud using text to speech. _________________ Darren Griffin
Sounds good! I pre-ordered at Dixons so fingers crossed they will get some of the first shipment. I also pre-ordered a case at Amazon so hopefully the accessories wont be far behind. I read its possible to replace the blue arrow with a picture of your choice, would be cool to have a picture of my car zooming around the map!

Darren,
Does the status screen tell you the road you are actually travelling along, rather than I usually find the road that you are going to be on after the next turn?
Cheers

The entire range show you the road you are on if you do not have a route set.
If you do have a route set, you can tap the screen and the road you are on is shown somewhere (sorry to be vague - no TomTom with me today).

But my 910 does not have speech recognition
What is the hands free like on the 720, as no one can hear me when I use the 910, even with the microphone; there is too much background noise.
Cheers
Paul
Sorry Though you'd asked about TTS!
Speech recognition is pretty good most of the time, recognizes some of the Welsh place names where I was brought up which is a tough test and works in my noisy Land Rover.
Because of the improved microphone needed for voice recognition, hands free is very much better. _________________ Darren Griffin
