I didn't have a particular one in mind. I checked my latest dowload zipfile and there are files for: gatso, mobile, pmobile, redlight, specs and temp. No truvelo.
Are they covered by gatso? _________________ Bazzza

You can look at all the entries in a POI file by several methods....
You can open the file in POI Edit and look at all the names;
or on your TomTom if you go to "Browse Map" you can either prod an icon on the map to see what it is called, or if you go into Find / POI near you / and choose one of the Gatso files, you can scroll up and down to view every single entry.
You'll see they are called GATSO:12345@30, TRUVELO:56789@40, MONITRON:24680@50, etc.
In the past, there has been a discussion whether the "Gatso" sections of the database should be renamed "Fixed", but it wasn't done in the end.
(Edited to change the viewing instructions)

Bazza, if you click the big yellow camera box and read through the Speed Camera Database page there is so much information.
The information you require is towards the bottom of the page. _________________ RQ

Thanks peoples, I'm not worried much about the camera detail, I don't really care what sort of camera it is, just so long as I get a warning. I'm happy now that when it says "Gatso ahead" it really means "Some sort of fixed camera ahead". As a matter of interest, I have never seen anything but Gatsos around my neck of the woods.

After all, it's the spoken warning that needs to change, leaving the camera details as accurate descriptions. But as I'm not (a good little Mixer), I'm not (tempted) and I'll stick with my excellent existing .oggs. _________________ Dennis

Bazzza | Not sure exactly where you are, but a trip (slightly circuitous) from Hull to Bishop Burton would pass about 15 Truvelo database entries. _________________ Jock

Thanks BGF, I'll give that a go. I'm not too far away from Bishop Burton. I normally try to stay away from the place; it's full of speed cameras you know.
Thanks Dennis. you've set the seed of doing my own warnings with Audacity.

Good (if slightly sneaky!) idea Dennis! :D
Maybe I should make an ogg that says "This is a SPECS camera, with a blue pole with a bat logo in the corner and big yellow cameras with IR illuminators on each side" too! 8) |

If it takes my picture, I don't care what kind of camera it was.
Maybe all cameras should generate the warning "Behave yourself!".

Well, my current Audacity .ogg says "(Siren, Siren,Siren), Wake up Dennis, Mobile camera ahead". This is as far as I've got for now - just testing and playing to get the clarity and volume as I need it - clarity is fine, just need to play around with "Amplify", then when I've got it, move on to getting useful ones like including speeds. Greatest difficulty is getting the children to stop ****ing about and do decent speaking - I've got many samples with giggles and **** noises, but they don't work well in the van! But I'll get there (especially now that my new electric string has arrived and I can recharge the super new expensive MacBook Pro 17 again) - once I've recovered from my 25 hour Saturday (Scotland and back via Gloucestershire floods for 5.5 hours!).
It is slowly dawning on me that I might just have the ability to record "Speed Limit" then "Miles an hour" then 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and unknown and "mix" (is that what mixing is Andy?) them together to make a nice set.
This is NOT a sneaky idea Andy - it's what you've conned me into thinking after giving me all that guidance and help with Audacity. Maybe it's you being sneaky, getting me to do my own instead of crawling to you to do them for me? _________________ Dennis
