In that case, TomTom will be very unlikely to help, I'm afraid.
You've exhausted numbers 1 and 2 on oldboy's list. Looks like #3 is your only option.
If and when you buy the new map, once you've loaded it on your TomTom, PLEASE do an immediate backup (using Windows Explorer as described in the FAQs (Number One HERE) This is (as I'm sure you now realise!) vital, as the maps are not easily recoverable without one. |

I doubt it was anything to do with that to be fair; more of a freak accident like I described earlier regarding Windows automatically formatting the card after I restarted my system when it crashed.
Needless to say, I will be backing up like mad once I get my hands on some map software!
Will a Map software DVD come with the Home software as well, so I don't have to worry about compatibility etc?
Thanks. |

The most recent maps (v6.75) are not available on DVD yet, only as downloads (from http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/).
There is a 20% discount offer until the end of July.
There have been a couple of reports in the forums that Halfords is selling a DVD of the Europe maps, but although they seem to be advertised as v6.6, they are actually v6.5 an might be the collection of individual maps rather than the single "seamless" Europe map.
If you buy from TomTom, I would suggest the "Western and Central Europe" map as it has more detail (as well as more countries) than the "Western Europe" version. In order to buy it you need to put "910" as your model in the webpage. Don't worry, it Will work, but you will need a 2GB SD card to fit it on.
Also, don't worry about Home. You can download the latest version from TomTom for free any time. |

The 650 DVD comes with seamless Europe and each country maps as well as Plus maps so the options are quite comprehensive, the Halfords deal is probably your most cost effective method but you will have to move quick to grab a copy, the actual disks they are selling would seem to be different depending upon the store, you won't know how upto date the map is until you install it. (Certainly less than 15 months old) - Mike |
