I have down loaded the speed cameras on my tomtom one, but none of them show up, i have read on here that you have got to delete some points of interest for them to start showing, yet on tomtom the option to delete them are not high lighted so i can select it. any ideas? |

Hi,
Slow down.
There is only a need to delete POIs when you have more than 100 custom POIs on your system. To check you need to use Windows Explorer and count up the number of files that end in .OV2 - if it is over 100 then you will need to delete some POIs should you wish to add more.
The speed camera files are available as a single file, 6 files or 24 files - so, you can choose how many files you need to delete.
Generally, I manage the data on the Tomtom as a computer drive and use Windows Explorer to facilitate this.
Does this help? _________________ RQ

If none of the speed cameras shows up - have you put the files into the map directory - called Western_Europe or United_Kingdom etc.?
Have you enabled the POIs?
Have you "Warned when near"?

Oldboy - I re-read my message and it sort of makes sense. If he wants to add further POIs and he has more than 100 ending in .OV2 then he will have to delete some so that the the total, when he has added the new ones, is less than 100. My english may have been cumbersome - but it was late.
Fod182 - how many POI files ending in .OV2 do you have on your unit?

Sorry RQ, my question mark was for fod182, because he hadn't given what is an important piece of information, that you had asked for.

Have you downloaded the speed cameras from this site, or the TomTom speed cameras. Don't the TomTom ones need to be enabled through TomTom HOME. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

fod182, lets start again here, when you downloaded the database from this site did you unzip the download prior to transfering the files to the TT One?
Assuming you did unzip the download, did you place the files into the map folder? - Mike |

You haven't said which of the 3 download versions you're trying to use (single, consolidated by type or speed-zoned).
If you connect up the TomTom to the PC (as you did to load the files onto it) please open up the map folder, and tell us exactly what files (including the 3 letter extensions) you see that start "pocketgps..."
Just in case you've using the speed-zoned set, here is a screen grab showing what is in mine:
If they are there and looking just like that, they should show up on the "Enable/Disable POIs" menu screen. |

Check you have Windows Explorer set up to show file extensions and hidden files
In Explorer, Tools menu / Folder Options / View Tab Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is NOT ticked, and that "Show hidden files and folders IS selected.
If it still doesn't look right, download the TomTom ov2 speed-zoned database again and unzip it again, because those files I showed will be the ones you get (plus 7 more "pmobile" ones that I don't bother with). |
