I have just got the funds to buy a brand new car :D Now I have a lovely little mini at the moment but am thinking about a two seater sports car. Any one know anything about these, which are the best and easiest to drive etc. I dont want anything really flashy but now I just have me to think about I dont really need anything big or with back seats. |

Depends on budget of course but Mazda's MX5 has always rated highly, 2 seater soft top with style and excellent handling. There is also Toyota's MR2 but personally I think it's pug ugly

Classy56, I don't wish to appear picky but that image is larger than the size permitted.
From the forum guidelines:

Can I ask you either resize or remove? Also what is it and what does it have to do with the discussion of a suitable 2-seater sports car _________________ Darren Griffin |

I've deleted it off the hosting site so it should disappear, but it hasn't 8O
And its a chevy sports car and apart from the fact that its a sports car which bettyboo said she was interested in, it has nothing at all to do with the discussion. _________________ Tomtom Go730T

One major advantage is that he can't fit his Mother in Law into it. He got a front wheel puncture on the way to his holiday (next door to us in Corfu) and I said the AA would tell him he'd somehow lost a wheel as well. _________________ Dennis

A work colleage used to have a RR but had a small electrical fire in it on the way to work, now his RR is part of the estate road system as a roundabout because they can't scrape the plastic of the tatmac.
Imagine, all that was left was the frame, engine, and three wheels, in a pool of molten plastic. :P _________________ Dom

You will find it a hard job to beat the Mazda's MX5, it's with out a doubt a lady's car and although it has been around for a few years, still gets lots of admiring glances, with low running costs and good performance and handling, it's one of Top Gear's best rated cars.
It's rear wheel drive so a favourite amongst "drivers".
Whatcar mag, gave it 5 out of 5 stars for Ride and Handling, Buying and Owning, Quality and Reliability and 4 out of 5 stars for Performance, Refinement, Safety and Security, Improvement in the Cabin, the only points it lost were to being a two seater (lack of space) and Equipment (not plush).
As it is a Mazda (Japanese) it is superbly reliable and was at the top of the sports car list for its outstanding engineering for years.
Air-con isn't standard so look out for one with, if second hand.
It has now been around for nearly 18 years, so that speaks for it's self.
PS.
i'm not a car salesman, just recognise a good car when i see it. _________________ TomTom Go 60

The latest MX 5 comes with the option of a folding tin-top. In my view preferable to a rag top.
See Here.

That pic looked like a lovely yacht to me, dont know why, it just did I thought it would cost millions thats why I said If you had the money, as if you did have millions to spend on a yacht I'm sure you wouldnt be contributing on a forum but would be on the open ocean somewhere sunny. Didnt mean to be rude |
