|
|
Hi
I bought a TomTom 910 back in Jan this year and have now been through 3 TomTom Windscreen mount's because the tomtom keeps slowly drooling back down and does not stay in place.
One came supplied with the TomTom and the other TomTom support sent FOC.
What shall i do now? Any else have this problem?
TIA |

This was a very well covered subject when the x10 range were launched, the newer mounts were to a slightly different design and overcame the issue (For most users) - can you make sure you have locked the outer ring fully home when attaching the suction unit to the windscreen. It must click twice in order to lock the pivot ball securely, this can take a considerable amount of effort - Mike |

Thanks for your reply. I'm sure it clicks but can't remember if it's one or two clicks. i shall try that.
Thanks. |

Hi,
Thanks for this. I'm so stupid . I was only turning it until it clicked once. As a result, the tomtom kept drooling downwards.
Tried all three now and they all have a second click however, have to apply some effort. Once this is done, all the mounts are rock solid.
I guess i have 2 spare now. Can't belive TomTom did not ask if i secured it properly and it clicked twice. |

I am somewhat surprised that TomTom are happy to send out replacement mounts without offering very basic advice as to how the product should be used, be it drooping or drooling the fact that two of you didn't know how to correctly use the mount is worrying, perhaps they should be including a small user guide with these units, they did get a very high degree of complaints about failing mounts, I wonder how many were truly deffective - Mike |

I agree. I just spoke to my collegue at work and he has the same issue until i told him about the 2 clicks.
his droops so much that he now rests the tomtom on the dash .
I just told him about the 2 clicks and his is also fine now too.
surely there must be loads of people in fact have decent mount but not using it properly. |
