|
|
I have just had my GTM-10 changed by Kenwood as I did not get a signal for about 4 weeks.
I have been running it with the original software (v3.5) for about 2 weeks and the replacement has been working fine until i made the mistake of updating the s/w today with updater. It came up as v4.1. I have just made a one hour 60 mile journey and no signal at all.
Any suggestions? _________________ Steve I |

v4.1 is generally much more reliable than the previous few versions, although going back as far as v3.5 was fairly good.
Firstly, I would say give it time - my GTM10 has worked fine for some months using v4.1 - and it can take a little while for a fresh unit to sort out all the searches (although I would have thought 60 minutes was long enough).
Secondly, check the subscriptions screen to see what state the "Tm TMC" subscription is in - there appear to be some problems with GTM10s coming up as "expired", although it does seem coincidental this occurred at the same time as the upgrade, but maybe the problem was introduced with a recent firmware.
I suspect you may need to speak to Kenwood / Garmin. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

I've been waiting over a month now for a solution to the 'expired' subcription, they keep telling my they are waiting for a solution from the US. They told me they can't just give me a subcription code, that would be too easy!! _________________ Samsung Mega

No, there is no known way to downgrade the GTM firmware version. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Some problems are indeed being fixed by getting a new license code from Garmin. Occasionally, a second, different code is required to fix the problem. Finally, a handful of devices still can't won't accept this code either, although a solution is being worked on by Garmin. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |
