On the Google map - on the Speed Camera download page - no cameras are showing, no mobiles, no GATSO's, not one, not anywhere. Have they all been scrapped?
What am I doing wrong? They've always been there before. |

Have you zoomed in to the correct level? - you need to be at a resolution of 1KM or lower to see the cameras - Mike |

Are you using IE or Firefox 2? They don't show in Firefox 1.5 |

Zoomed all the way in, back out and all the way in again - no cameras showing.
I'm using IE. This is so strange, it has never happened before. |

Thanks for your help Tanda.
Tried a restore - no change. Tried all the things suggested on the google maps site - no change.
I'm stumped, I get the usual Google map with road numbers, road names, place names and even London underground stations but no "Speed Camera" information at all. |

My suggestion was only partly flippant. Have you tried Firefox? It's widely considered to be a better browser than IE. |

Andy_2002, It never occured to me that your comment was even slightly flippant, I'll take any help I can get - flippant or not.
I might try Firefox but there is something fundamentally wrong here. The system has worked without a hitch for months and months and months but now it doesn't.
When I have more time I'm going to check more thoroughly, I suspect that it is one little setting that has become corrupted. If I find something obvious I'll let you know.
Thanks also to the others who have offered advice and suggestions. |

OK. As suggested, I'm now using "Firefox 2" and no change.
Neither "IE" nor "Ff2" show the speed cameras on the Google "Speed Camera" map.
What next? Any more suggestions? Please! |

I'm pulling my hair out with this one. I've logged on to a friends computer (so it thinks it's me) and there they are, all the cameras. Back on mine, nothing.
Please, what else can I do to get the cameras back? |

Its a bit long winded, but you must have a setting set wrong, have a look at your mates settings, and see if yours are the same, or try the default settings.

Thanks for that "tanda", I really thought that "restoring defaults" was going to work. But no, still no cameras.
As you say, the other way - comparing my computer settings with my friends - is rather long winded but unless anyone can suggest something else, when I get time, I'll try it.
I'm sure it is something very simple - a tick in a box that shouldn't be there or a tick that should be there.
Anybody any ideas what contols the overlays of the Speed Cameras, Red light Cameras etc, onto the Google map? That might give me a clue! |
