Boots straight to desktop - no Malata running but the power button works as normal and the top button (hoping to get it mapped to run the keyboard) still clicks when pressed.
A nice shaded background which gets rid of the Windows CE message across the screen.
All progs have links in the normal windows start button. |
where do you have your porogs installed, some of them don't work, are they on your memory card? |

Just thinking, a really simple way of someone doing all this without knowing much how to do these things is to put the reset app on their memory card.......use activ sync to restore with a backup file someone posts on here.. say with just the taskbar and malata issues already done, soft reset with the reset app then it's waiting for them to add their own stuff!
Simple! |

Yep, that was my idea of posting backup files and yep, all my progs are on MMC. Did you get the desktop working? |

Right, so i think this should work for anyone who can't do this (correct me if i'm wrong), i suppose you could say it's a blank canvas so you can add your own apps and not have to worry about doing the rest.
get this file:-
http://rapidshare.com/files/29056635/a2b.zip
instructions:-
unzip the file and place the reset app on you memory card
open activ sync
select "backup/restore" in the tools heading then select the restore tab
browse for the backup file that's in the zip
restore with the backup file
use the reset app that's on your memory card (not really sure the correct way of doing this but i select "yes" to reset then open it again and select "no" to shut down
turn it back on and hey presto! there's your desktop with the task bar etc ready for you to put your own stuff on!
If someone would like to try my file and tell me if my little modified windows ce wallpaper comes up for them.
Don't forget............you can always hard reset! |

Copy it to your SD card.
You then need to locate the TT installation .CAB file (using Explorer either on the aytobe or in Activesync).
Start CABINSTL,Put the .CAB location into the panel, and select your target directory, and Robert is your mother's brother. (Or should be: not tried this with TT)
I have used CABINSTL for lots of applications on my iPAQ and it seems to do the trick. |
Has anybody had any success in using cabinstl on the AYTOBE? 'cos I couldn't get version 1.04 or 1.03 to work at all... |

I was just going by what System Info says:
- My Device
- Identity
- Type: PORTABLE GPS
Code:PG63503
Version: 1.0
Manufacturer:MALATA |

Don't get me wrong - I see that.
But if you look at the images, the 503 looks different, the 509 looks correct. Plus the AYTOBE site says 509.
Perhaps the 503 code is something generic to a range, and 509 specifies other things - looking on the malata website, for example, lists the remote as optional... |

I got this from a different software system info, and also displays the same on Core Media player general page:
Platform: Intel(R) PXA255
OS Version: 4.20
OEM Info: MALATA_PG_63509
Processor ARM Intel PXA25x/26x
Clock speed: 300 Mhz
how strange! |
