Hi all, im new here and im not very good with this kind of stuff.
Basically I've downloaded Camera Manager and run it but when I bring up the settings, I dont have a box that says POI Directory, I just have two, one that says current version and one that says Last Checked.
Is this right? Or should I move the program into the folder with all my POI's?
Also, if it finds an update, do I just run the POI Loader and select my POI folder and it will update it or is there more to it?
And one final question, if I want to upload say just a single POI file onto my sat nav, do I just upload that one or do I have to upload the whole POI folder again? I have a garmin nuvi 360t if that helps at all.
Hi,
I dunno if I can help but I am a C/C++/C# developer with MS Visual Studio 2005 Profession Edition and I also has Vista, I would be glad to help get Camera Manager running under Vista if needed. ( Selfish mode on: I would Like it to work so I can get new updates ;-) )
Sounds good to me, but Ash has the Copyright so I can't talk for him, hopefully he will see this, despite that, I like others have tried so I expect Ash would appreciate the help.
I guess you know where the download is - in his signature HERE _________________ TomTom Go 60

I have upgraded my machine and installed Vista. Got through ALL my programs to install and no issues. Last program to install was Camera Manager and it won't work and have now read this thread.
Funny though, mine reports downloads available but the directory is blank.
Oh well,m I will have to wait until Ash's great software is updated

If the Current Database/Last Checked fields are filled in, the CM has been successful in connecting to the internet (through Internet Explorer)
However if the POI Directory field is blank, then CM has been unable to access the registry to read the location of the directory (from POI Loader's settings - either that, or POI Loader isn't (correctly) installed)
I'm guessing that Vista has a "security" setting somewhere that determines whether or not an application has access to the registry...
Well when i try it says it can't log in, even tho I have cookies etc enabled.
Might be something to do with IE7 and/or protected mode.
Me too, I have tried various alterations in security - can't get it to work.

Hold on
It has just worked, it was just taking it's time to down load.
Why don't you give it another go guys.
Was this a Vista upgrade on top of XP?
Or a new latest Vista package from full CD?
Would be interested to know if you have altered anything, as all of us with a new FULL Vista (I suspect we all have new machines) can't get it to work! _________________ TomTom Go 60

There seems to be no Temporary Internet Files folder, so I am having no luck in finding the file.
Yes, had the same problem, couldn't even find it with "show hidden files and folders" connected in tools/folder options/view.
I removed any connections to cameramanager in the registry, DONT PLAY IN REGISTRY WITHOUT A BACKUP FIRST
I re-downloaded it where i could find it and un-ticked the old file in "msconfig", which has since disappeared, with only the new file showing.
I still can't get it to work in Vista, i think the problem is somewhere in Windows Defender Security - which i'm still exploring. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Thanks for the reply, I managed to find the file.
To get to Temprorary Internet Files in Vista, you need to select 'Tools' then 'Internet Options' through the Internet explorer.
What version of Camera Manager are you running, mine is v1.5.0.0 Beta, somewhere else in this topic it mentions a later version, where can I find all versions?
I am sure I can get this to work with Vista, just need the correct download first.
