I have a slightly different problem. The voice commands frequently stop mid-sentence, and I then have to reboot TomTom to make them work again. I've got several "freebie" voices, but the same happens with the official voices. I've reinstalled all the software, and the PDA software (Glofiish X500). The files and folders structures all appear intact, although I wasn't aware that the voice files automatically install to the SKINS folder as well as the VOICES folder, and deleting them from SKINS also deletes from VOICES. Any ideas anyone? |

I already had Memory-Maps in a sub directory on the SD card of my Navman Pin 570 so I installed Navigator 6 in a sub directory as well. It worked but I had no voices and only 3 digit postcodes. This seems to be a common problem and putting the "voices" and "zip" folder in the root of the SD card along with an empty TomTom directory was supposed to cure the problem.
For some reason it didnt work for me so I moved Zip & Voices to the navigator directory under Program Files where there is a voices directory containing a collected.ini file. This means that TomTom looks there for any voices and also for a zip directory. This is internal RAM but I didnt have room for all the voices and the postcode file. Just Jane and the postcode take almost 10MB but I managed to reconfigure the memory to free enough and everything worked fine.
Some time later I just happened to look under ROM Storage and noticed another voices directory containing a collected.ini file. As there was plenty of free ROM space I moved Voices and Zip there so freeing up precious RAM, and everything still worked ok. You will need to restart TomTom to find the voices or better still do a soft reset. Also if you add voices, deleting collected.ini makes TomTom search for voices.
Since then I have uninstalled TomTom and reinstalled it on the SD card root directory so Voices and Zip are back on the SD storage card.
