Hi all,
I am looking to purchase the TomTom One GB version.
If at a later date I require European maps, can I upgrade?? or once I get the GB version is that what I am stuck with?
Cheers |

Hi,
Yes at a later date you can upgrade to the Western Europe map.
At the moment TT sell the map for 99.95 euros or about £68. The cheapest One GB I have seen is £159 and the cheapest European is £202.
If you can afford the European get it now - but it may pay to wait until the CeBIT tradefair has been and gone as TT tend to introduce new products at this event. And, this has an influence on the price of the "old"

Depends if you care which map supplier TomTom uses, i.e. Tele Atlas or Navteq.
If you buy the TT ONE Europe it comes with Navteq map data. If you buy the maps of Western Europe at a later stage then you may well get Tele Atlas map data.
Overall, the map data is similar in quality, some areas are reported to be better covered by one map supplier than others. However if you wish to visit the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands then only Navteq currently has map data for these regions.

One V2 Euro & Rider uses Navteq, ALL the rest use Teleatlas.
TA can be used on all units but Navteq can only be used on the V2 or Rider. |
