padsbrother wrote: | Hi,
I found this post thread because I had exactly the same problems (well, at least the re-setting of prefferences bit - I haven't tried BT yet). I got in touch with TomTom support, and within two days they sent me a link to a file which I un-zipped, ran and it cleared the flash memory, much like TuurG described.
Once you run the file, you need to re-register your maps, but other than that, everything works fine. :D |
Same here. Just heard from TT Support, and received the same file.
I also tried the Bluetooth constantly re-pairing problem with my wifes Nokia 6021, and it appears to have fixed that as well.
The problem now is that the 510 won't even acknowlege that Bluetooth is turned on on my Motorola V3, and it refuses to see it, so I can't test this with my V3 (and yes, I am selecting "Find Me" to make it visable for 60 seconds.)
Anyone out there got a 510/710 paired to a Motorola V3? If so, have you done anything with the firmware on the phone? If you enter *#9999#, what software version does it say you have?
Cheers

I faced exactly the same issue (on a 710), and like a few other people in this thread contacted TomTom who sent me a file to reset the flash memory.
You can download the file Here.
Just unzip the file on your computer, connect your TomTom and run setup.exe.
TomTom support warned me I may have to re-register my maps so make sure you can do this before you start - although I didn't end up having to re-register![/url]. _________________ TomTom Go 710. |

I also had a problem with Sony Ericsson, in particular a K750i and pairing with TomTom GO 510
I resolved the problem ( i meen that now it connect automatically without the need to reenter the 0000 code) only deactivating power save in bluetooth menu.
Also after appling the Clear Flash FIX, when I connect/disconnect the TomTom from PC, it does not loose any settings!
Thanks of all

Has anyone that has applied the fix actually had to re-activate?
I have the pairing issue on a K750i but can't find my product code card. I'm reluctant to apply the fix if there's a possibility I'll end up with all! |

If so, you can get your Product Code from the My Products Page. _________________ Richard

OK, I just popped a brave pill & ran the flash file. Pairing problem cured & no re-activation required. :D
Just for info, I ran the flash file with the SD card in a card reader without the 710 being connected at all. Seems the problem is with data on the card rather than within the device itself. |

I reckon this flash.exe should be included in the FAQ's as it keeps coming up time after time?? |

Is the application on the device memory on a 510, and the maps on a SD card? I have been offered a 510 from my Brother in law and wondered what I need to do to bring it up to date. Obviously it will cost me for the maps but wondered if I need a new SD card. I currently have a 720 and 730 and they both have 2gig of internal memory. Hence I do not use an SD card on these and wondered if the 510 is similar? Brother in law does not have a clue what I am on about! _________________ -------------------------

The 510 doesn't use an Internal Memory like the X20, x30 and x40 Devices.
Everything is on the SD Card.
It depends what is currently on the SD Card, as to whether you need to update it. The latest App version is 7.903 and the latest Map is the 825. _________________ Richard
