Johnny, why have you posted this here?. I can understand your frustration but this is NOT a site owned by TomTom
You would have been better off sending the post direct to TomTom themselves, with their wonderful track record you may have got a new model free of charge as a sweetner |

and there was me just about to praise TT
ok, its only for the fast service with the free replacement home hub and window mount.. the home hub took a week to receive but the window mount was ordered on monday evening and arrived this morning.
what was your complaint with TT about johnny if you dont mind sharing just so we can see if it was a one off or if it had happened to lots of people.

ok i have had three tomtoms the go and the one so i thought its time to get the best the 910.
but the mount was crap and i think the build was not to good all so.
but i called the tomtom help line for help but the response was shocking
it went like this.
me hello i am just leting you know i have a tomtom 910 with a mount that is faulty it keeps droping down so you can not use it. i understand you have a new mount free of charge as a replacement.
his reply send proof of purchase and we will see what we can do then put the phone down.
is that sh-t or what so i took it back to comet where a very nice man helped me out he was great.
tomtom treat people with respect or loose em. |

it could be the language barrier as TT are in the nederlands. instead of ringing ive always used the online support page and had no problems and a speedy conclusion to the problem.
i know it might be to late now as youve made your mind up but heres the link anyway.
support page http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1

I'm sure your first line when incurring any problems is the retailer isn't it? So I would have taken it back to Comet and asked them to change the mount with another one, after all your 'contract' is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

the retailer wouldnt have spare mounts lying about. they would most probably do the same thing and contact TT. contacting them yourself would cut out the middle man and the item is posted directly to your home instead.
now if its a faulty TT then yes its back to where you bought it from which would take weeks as the retailer would post it back to them and then it joins the repair/faulty Q and then IF fixed sent back to the retailer blahdy blah de blah.

the chap at comet was great he said no worrys do you want another 1 as i said no you can change it for another type if you want or you can have a refund on yor card.
so i got the nuvi 610 and i have to say its beter than any tomtom
and as i have heard no bad reports about garmin customer care you carnt go wrong.
i think the leson here is check out the after sales service before you buy
a sat nav because there is a lot what can go wrong. and it does so very often. |
