Following some sound advice by Mike i`ve decided my best bet to get some form of sat nav into my car is to go and buy a pda,so i`m looking at buying an ipac.

I`ve seen various bundles from flashing links on screen and would actually repfer a wired system. But what to buy,TOM TOM navigator 2 or the latest NAVMAN software........

I`ve read the reviews and both seem to have there teethin problems.Being NOT AT ALL pda literate and a rookie techno guy i want something very easy to install (software and maps wise) and ultra easy to use.

Still confused so help is very much appriciated!

Ps Is there a brand new version of TOM TOM on the horizon?

drnh,

I too am a newbie, but I have found this:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/navmanvstomtom.php

It is a comparison of Navman and TT2 software and is useful for people like you and I who are wavering between the two. It's on this site, too.

Thanks Dazzla Thumbs Up

Have read that review and others aswell as the forum for Tom Tom and have to be honest i`m now wondering whether to buy anything at all.Think i`ll wait for the next software to be released.

Tom Tom and NAVMAN do seem to have ALOT of problems from reading the reviews and forums.Others probably do also but only read about these two as they`re the one`s i`m interested in buying.

Not sure what to do now. Confused

Well, Tomtom have included an upgrade package in the fee for TT2, so when the new software is released, you'll have the option to upgrade for free.

I wasn't sure either, but I think tomtom's bright, clear mapping and free support and upgrades did it for me.

Navman's mapping is more detailed at street level, but I wasn't sure whether the low-spec PDA I'm going to use could handle such richness of information.
