I have TomTom Navigator 6 on my Nokia N73 and a generic bluetooth GPS receiver. It works great when I am in the car and when the phone is plugged into the in car charger, and if I then unplug it and walk around with it.
However, if I try and use it without it being plugged in from scratch (even with a fully charged battery) it will not pick up a GPS signal, it connects to the GPS receiver okay though. As soon as I plug in the power to the phone it magically decides to pick up a signal. I reckon this is a phone problem rather than the receiver otherwise I would have this issue whether the phone was plugged in or not.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the N Series? |

Is there a GPS fix indicator on the BT receiver? Does the receiver fail to get a fix, or does the Nokia fail to receive the data? _________________ Lutz

I've got one of these:
http://www.easydevices.co.uk/sp/searchbox13/products.asp?partno=PGRIDBTK2
The satellite indictor seems to glow red if it has a signal or not (in the picture it is green though). The phone connects to the receiver every time then sits there reporting 'Waiting for valid GPS signal'. Then, immediately as I plug in the power to the phone, it magically picks up a signal. |

I used to have the same reciever branded under a different name. Its got the old style chip in it and needs to face the sky to get a signal.
I can recomend the holux gpslim236 as a good replacment for it |
