Yeah. Buy I heard that you can buy map data from other map companies like NAVTECH...well maybe not NAVTECH but other companies that have map data. I know its available for Tom Tom but surely there has to be a company out there that can sell you that map. Whether its compatible with the Destinator 3 format or whether you would need to convert it to something Dest 3 can understand is a whole other matter.
But from what I've heard, I'm pretty sure there has to be a PR map that some 3rd party will sell.
Thanks

It's all a question of money and business models. Why would anybody in his right mind want to sell you the raw data. (that's why NavTech makes it so expensive that ordinary people can't buy it)
And then you have that data - I reckon for PR it would be a good Gigabyte - and you still have to compile it into the format that Destinator uses. Again each vendor has their own compression algorithm. etc.
It may be a different story for topographical maps, but even there you have proprietary solutions (like MapTech)
Don't waste your time (and money) thinking about that, get yourself a program that actually has PR maps. Not just TomTom, Mapopolis have them as well. _________________ Lutz
