does anyone know where we might be able to download nice looking bitmaps that we could then rename to make them work with the poi's we already have.
I dont want to make my own as i am too lazy, i just want a good selection already available, surely othere out there agree on this as sometimes we find a poi's setup apears to work well and is accurate so we want to keep that database but the bmp is naff so we want something more suitable
i have tried to look around for this option but i am not finding anything.
Come on you guys that like making your own bmps's why not upload them somewhere so we can all get at them.
any help on this would be appreciated as i dont really like the boring black & white simplified bmps's. |

how about recycling one of the Windows icon files that are lying around the internet in billions? All you need is to convert .ICO into .BMP _________________ Lutz

I do think a nice repository of .bmp files would be nice. |

I initially thought you were talking about a bmp for POIEdit. Since I have already typed the following I may as well post anyway!!
I tried making one of the UK but the .inf file won't save so it loses the calibration settings. In addition it only displays the 2 POIs that I used to calibrate it with and none of the other POIs.
I tried emailing the author but the feedback form on his website wasn't working.
I agree that a few public property UK maps calibrated for POI Edit would be a great addition to the downloads section of this site!!

Benyyy,
What sort of BMPs do you want?
I’ve designed BMPs for my own POIs that I have had published on this site. I don’t think that they are too bad but then I would say that I suppose. ;-)
To be honest if you’re creating a POI of a known brand then the chances are that that brand’s website will have a graphic file that is either already the right size, or can be resized by MS Paint.
If you want BMPs for generically named POIs that are unique to each person, e.g. “Friends and Family”, “Business contacts”, etc. then we might have to have a bit of a think but I’m sure that there are some good graphical artists out there who can help.
Let us know what POIs you’re designing and we’ll see who can help. 8-)

Hi Benyyy,
I design a lot of bitmaps for POIs that I create and would be quite happy to share them with people. I also have a folder full of pre-created ones for certain companies and places.
Are the bitmaps for TomTom POIs (i.e. 22x22 pixels) or would you need a different size?
If you want to, let me know what bitmaps you would like created and what size they need to be and I can have a go at designing some for you.
HTH.

22 x 22 size is fine
i am after good ones that might relate to companies , especially car dealers and service repair centres, i would also like a nice looking traffic light sign , the ov2 file is no problem because i can associate the bmp to the ov2 file i want to use it would also be useful to perhaps have a pub bmp as so many pubs are used as landmarks
thanks to all that are responding |

Hi benyyy,
I have loads of 22x22 bitmaps for car dealerships, etc. so a bit later on today I will try and organise them into a file and maybe if I sent them to Dave he would be kind enough to upload them somewhere on the website so people can have access to them?
I can also create a bitmap for a pub if you want.

Hi Benyyy,
I have finished most of them (62 - including one for a pub) and have 22 more that just need the finishing touches put to them. I have emailed the 53 completed ones to Dave and asked if he can put them somewhere on the forum for people to download.
I'm sure he will let people know when he has done this and whereabouts on the site he has done this.

Did anything ever happen with these bmp's. I could do with one or two myself. It seems a shame if Bo Peep's efforts went to waste! _________________ Ipaq H5555, 512mb SD card, Haicom HI-204S, TTN 3.01, Checkpoint 2 and the essential Speed Camera POI file. |

Hi David,
If you want to PM/email me a list of the bitmaps you are after, I can soon create some for you (if I haven't already got them) and email them to you.
