Right I have a streetpilot c510d and a 2gb sd card, the maps that came with my unit are v8. I have registered the product and installed mapsource. I have also ordered the v9 update disc which im hoping i get the free unlock code for. In mapsource i have selected all the european regions as i want to transfer all european maps to the 2gb sd card, in the maps tab it list's every country i want but i notice a check box at the bottom stating "include route calculation data (recommended if your gps supports auto-routing). It will not allow me to check the box, what does this mean?? will i only get the maps and not actually recieve route navigation?? Im sure they could make all these sat navs alot easier to work with out of the car!! |

There is no choice there with CityNavigator Europe v8 [or V9] NT.
The route data is automatically transferred!
If you had the Non NT version then the option would appear!
How long do you think you will take to transfer the whole of Europe?? |

I've just tried something similar, and for the map segments I have transferred to my Nuvi that option is greyed out - ie I cannot select it. I think this is because these v8 maps already have routing capabilities built in, and you cannot install the maps without routing support.
As mentioned, if you are transferring a very large quantity of map data you may want to copy it directly to the SD card via a USB2 SD card reader, as the C510d is only a USB1 device, and hence it will take a lot longer.
Plus, if you are waiting for the v9 map update, you'll have to go through the whole process again (as you'll have the whole of the v9 European maps available to you once you have unlocked them) so it might be better to wait for the new disk to arrive. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Cheers swing, i was'nt going to put the v8 ones on just yet, was just experimenting without clicking the send to device. I have a 8in1 card reader but was'nt sure if i could write to it, thought you would have to buy a different one ie read/write. I'll just use the card reader if you think it will be faster than transfering through the unit itself. thanks |
