A bit of light hearted fun but it does highlight the issue of safety camera vans and the locations they choose

I'm never driving again
Saying that, I did see or saw just in time a camera van backed up against a bus stop once. couldn't see until I was next to it. _________________ Dom

i only missed a few! got 13/19
what does annoy me though is the 'yes, the police car is illegally parked again'... i was under the impression that a copper can park anywhere so long as it is in the course of his duty - ie if it's for copper duties they can park there? darren?

Good point!
I thought that it was more to do with it being illigal for the police or camera vans to hide behind other objects. _________________ Dom

That's rather a 'grey' area. There is nothing set in stone in that regard but they could park illegally if it was necessary in the fulfilment of their duties. It might be argued that detection of motoring offences was not sufficient necessity.
Such exemption does not apply to safety camera partnership vans regardless. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Just out of curiosity Darren, are you sure about that? From what I've seen, a lot of overbridge positions involve parking fully or partialy on the pavement. If you are correct, it would be interesting to try a formal complaint. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155

It would be interesting for YOU to try a formal complaint. I'll hide round the corner muttering (quietly) "Here, here". :D

I'm pretty sure of that. There have been cases where members of the public have complained in the past both against Police officers and Safety Cam partnerships but I'll do some research and report back. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Good point darren, Like in the instant with the van in the bus stop I'm sure the first people to complain would be the bus operators.
I registered a mobile camera location I saw in a bus stop once. Saw it in the same location twice more and then haven't seen it for about two years. _________________ Dom

Yes it has been posted before, but it is still worth thinking as to how long before we end up with the same tricks, then the database will become so clogged up that it will become virtually useless. _________________ TomTom Go 60
