Please tell me how to display Excel files (*PXL) in landscape mode on my screen. Do I need 3' party software?

yes, you need something like NYDITOT.
Not sure what this has to do with GPS though, but if you are trying to use the GPS in landscape mode you will find that very few programs are handling landscpe properly (so far only TomTom and Destinator are doing it right). _________________ Lutz

Nyditot Virtual Display and the like are a bit of a kludge. No released version of Pocket PC handles screens other than the 240x320 portrait setup that well. The 480x640 Toshibas get by using various techniques - helpfully the VGA resolution used on these devices is exactly double in each direction the Pocket PC standard quarter VGA resolution.
However, the next version of Pocket PC (Pocket PC 2004?) is supposed to have multiple screen size support. Some information says this was supposed to be in Pocket PC 2003, but was cut from the specification at some point.

There is a PDA navigation system sold as an accessory for the BMW Mini (at least in some markets). I think it uses Copilot Live and an Ipaq, and displays in landscape. The link is http://www.mini.com/pda/ . The faq explain that the format change is achieved by modification of the serial cable, if that means anything to anybody! Interestingly it stresses the safety advantages of the reduced visual footprint from displaying in this mode. |

I only want Excel files in landscape. Not GPS files.

Just verified with NYDITOT and Pocket Excel works just fine in landscape mode at various resolutions. The one thing that doesn't work so well is the main menu bar of PocketPC2002... Maybe they fixed that in WM2003. _________________ Lutz
