|
|
Hi
I have just got a Navman F20 and want to try and get hold of the connectivity software, which I thought would be included on a CD in the box, but wasn't.
Anyone know where I can get it?
Also after the France maps too.
Thanks for any help or advice. |

It certainly should have been if you bought it from a genuine source. What discs did you actually get - if any?

Gee-Pee.
The navman does not include the connecitivity software. IT's an additional item orderable from navman.com's online store.

Whoops I read the Navman shop description before posting and it said
Quote: | Tele Atlas 2006
SmartST™ navigation software for F20
Mapping depends on country of purchase, eg, F20s bought in the UK have maps of UK and Ireland |
which I assumed to mean the SmartST Desktop software was included in the package. Reading the Manual, though, it is obvious that it is not included. Thanks for putting me right. _________________ Gee-Pee

£49 for the french map, yet that extra amount would have bought you the F20 european version with all the western european maps preloaded. |

All the sources I have tried are out of stock with new stock said to be expected by 6th Feb. Prices range from £10 to £20 and come with one free Navman Safety camera download; thereafter you have to subscribe to update them. _________________ Gee-Pee

Halfords would not know there ass from their elbow.
It's the software you need. any usb will do the job, but you need the proprietry software.

Thats what I was telling them....they all see unaware of the connectivity pack.
Anyway, I just bought one and it doesn't even pick up the mobile camera site near me that has been there for at least 5 years???
I have checked all the boxes in the POI menus so am a bit disappointed with the lack of camera info as it is advertised as pre-loaded. |

Thanks for the replies.
I thought it should come with a disc, but no matter, currently d/l the software from a torrent site, and managed to get all the europe maps too, as £49 for french maps from Navman is extortionate, and I only need them for two weeks this summer, and maybe a trip to the Nurburgring.
The speed camera database has been fine so far, and a mate who has one hasn't had a problem.
I managed to get it for £114 from Currys yesterday - they had an offer and made a balls up on something else I ordered, so I insisted on a further discount and the manager gave me one - else I would've got a TT1. |

There is some useful software available
http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/html/winov2.html
which converts ov2 files to asc and vice versa.

I have a 510 and now a shiny new n60i - so I have the desktop software already.
If I get an F20 for the wife will that be compatible with the desktop software I have already?
If so then that is good news! |
